TURA, Aug 29: Action continued at the 6th Inter-Mahari Men’s Football Tournament 2026 on Saturday, featuring two decisive fixtures as Manda mahari team and Agitok mahari team secured victories in their respective matches played at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School Artificial Turf playground in Chandmary, Tura.
Manda Mahari Edge Gabil Mahari in Tight Contest
In the opening fixture of the day, Manda mahari edged a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Gabil FC. After a scoreless first half where both defenses held firm, the game-changing breakthrough arrived in the 33rd minute of the second half when Manda’s Octaviush P. Sangma scored the decisive goal.

Gabil mahari attempted to shift momentum by making three substitutions in the 42nd minute, but Manda mahari held their defensive structure until the final whistle. The game also saw two cautions during the match, with Gabil’s Rikeo G. Momin receiving a yellow card in the 35th minute and Manda’s Mithilson M. Sangma getting booked in the 50th minute.
Agitok Mahari FC Outclass Mangsang Mahari FC 3–0

The second fixture produced a dominant display from Agitok mahari, who comfortably swept past Mangsang mahari with a 3–0 win. Agitok opened their account late in the first half when Trenith Ch Sangma found the net in the 29th minute. Mangsang tried their best at scoring but the attempts fell short.
Agitok maintained pressure after the restart, with Bhupen D Marak doubling the scoreline in the 34th minute before adding another goal just four minutes later to complete a swift brace. Physical play escalated in the second period, resulting in yellow cards for Agitok’s Bhupen D. Marak in the 44th minute and Mangsang’s Lukesh M Sangma in the 59th minute.
In the women’s division of the inter mahari football tourney, the pre-quater final bracket has concluded and will kick-off the quarter-final fixtures from September 1st, Tuesday, at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School Artificial Turf playground in Chandmary, Tura.
