Shillong, June 18: The second day of the East Jaintia Hills District-level Inter-School Subroto Mukherjee Cup Football Tournament 2026 witnessed close contests across the Under-15 Boys and Under-17 Girls categories at the East Jaintia Hills District Sports Association (EJHDSA) Football Ground in Deinchynrum.
Organised by the Office of the District Sports Officer (DSO), East Jaintia Hills, the tournament featured five matches on Wednesday, with several teams producing impressive performances.
In the Under-15 Boys category, Sham Sham Secondary School registered the biggest win of the day, thrashing Byndihati Secondary School 7-0.
Iengswer Memorial Secondary School secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Iawpyngkat Upper Primary School.
Little Star Secondary School edged past Khliehriat Presbyterian Higher Secondary School 4-3 in a penalty shootout after the teams remained deadlocked in regulation time.
In another closely fought encounter, Cambridge Secondary School defeated Lotus Secondary School 4-3 via tie-breaker.
The day’s only Under-17 Girls fixture saw Khliehriat Presbyterian Higher Secondary School overcome Sanshnong Secondary School 3-0 in a penalty shootout following a goalless draw in regulation time.
