Tura, Sept 20: The Tura Football League’s Super Division entered a new phase on Saturday as the competition moved to the Narangbari Playground in Selsella, with Chipakkore FC securing a 2-0 victory over Rongbakgre SCCT in their fourth-round encounter.
The venue shift comes after the District Football Association (DFA), Tura, moved the remaining Super Division fixtures away from the P.A. Sangma Stadium. The venue is currently being kept available for preparations and upgrade work ahead of the National Games 2027, with Tura set to host the women’s football competition. The DFA subsequently consulted participating clubs and inspected alternative grounds before selecting Narangbari Playground in Selsella for the relocated fixtures.
The move brings the league to a venue outside its traditional Tura setting.
On the field, Chipakkore made a winning start at the new venue. Balthu M Marak broke the deadlock in the 44th minute, giving Chipakkore a 1-0 lead going into the interval. Brainsbirth Momin then doubled the advantage in the 59th minute to complete the 2-0 victory.
The match also saw two players receive yellow cards for fouls, with Chipakkore’s Harlee K Sangma and Rongbakgre’s Mangrak M Sangma cautioned by the referee.
