Tura, June 26: The Second Division of the Tura Football League (TFL) 2026-27 continued its high-scoring momentum on Day 3 (Thursday), with Group C fixtures delivering intense entertainment at the GBHSS Playground in Chandmary, Tura. The afternoon double-header produced a staggering 12 goals in total.
Seltang FC vs Jendra FC
In the first match, Seltang FC edged past Jendra FC in an 5-3 thriller.
Seltang FC took a 2-1 lead in the first half, with two quick goals from Fiftheen Ch. Marak, striking in both the 6th and 29th minutes. Jendra FC fought back with Derikbath Marak finding the net in the 39th minute.
After half time, Jendra FC equalised the scoreline with Sengrang Ch Marak scoring in the 48th minute. However, Seltang FC responded ruthlessly with three goals in rapid succession, courtesy of Lambai A Sangma in the 62nd and 63rd minute, and Christbirth R Sangma in the 66th minute. A late 68th-minute strike by Jendra FC’s Derikbath Marak proved to be a mere consolation.
Nokrek Medan vs Dura Wa•saa
The second fixture saw Nokrek Medan cruise to a 3-1 victory over Dura Wa•saa.
Ronal G Momin drew first blood and opened the scoring for Nokrek Medan in the 9th minute. Right off the first whistle, Dura Wa•saa was seen charging strong trying to maintain ball possession but ended up giving a 1-0 lead to Medan by half-time.
Nokrek Medan doubled their advantage in the second half when Brilliant Ch. Marak found the net in the 44th minute, followed by a definitive third goal from Kreningbirth D Sangma in the 48th minute. Dura Wa’saa eventually pulled one back in the 75th minute through Jonathan Puwein, but Nokrek Medan comfortably took home all the points.
Beyond the goal scoring, the day also stood out for its officiating as female assistant referees Tunima Sangma and Rejina Marak took charge of the boundary lines. Officiating across both high-octane matches, the duo demonstrated exceptional sharpness ensuring smooth gameplay and managing multiple substitutions seamlessly alongside referees Adik Marak and Herley Scott Marak.
Match official also said that a notable trend of the league season so far is the highly competitive nature of the tournament; every single team has found the back of the net, meaning no team has lost a match with zero goals.
On Friday, the Second Division action will shift to the Group D fixtures. In the first match scheduled for 1:00 PM, Chitoktak YC will face off against Mrigre SWC, and the second clash of the day will see Dilneng SCC take on Ashugre at 2:45 PM, both at the GBHSS playground in Chandmary, Tura.
