Shillong, June 18: The East Jaintia Hills District-level Inter-School Subroto Mukherjee Cup Football Tournament 2026 commenced on June 16, 2026 at the East Jaintia Hills District Sports Association (EJHDSA) Football Ground in Deinchynrum.
Organised by the Office of the District Sports Officer (DSO), East Jaintia Hills, the tournament has drawn participation from schools across the district in the Under-15 Boys, Under-17 Boys and Under-17 Girls categories.
The opening day featured five matches in the Under-17 Boys category, with several teams registering convincing victories.
Khliehriat Higher Secondary School thrashed Little Flower Secondary School 7-0, while Rymbai Presbyterian Higher Secondary School recorded a dominant 6-0 win over Khliehriat West Upper Primary School.
Sein Raij Tuber Higher Secondary School secured a comfortable 4-0 victory against Rymbai Pohskur Higher Secondary School. Little Star Secondary School defeated Ambrose Memorial Secondary School 2-0, while Byndihati Secondary School edged past Divine Word Secondary School 2-1 in a closely contested encounter.
A total of 26 schools are participating in this year’s tournament, including 15 teams in the Under-15 Boys category, 18 teams in the Under-17 Boys category and seven teams in the Under-17 Girls category.
