The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has suspended its secretary general, Pramod Kumar, with immediate effect over alleged financial irregularities, non-cooperation with investigations and misuse of authority.
BFI president Ajay Singh issued the suspension order on Tuesday, pending an inquiry into the allegations against Kumar.
Among the charges is the alleged issuance of a work order for broadcasting arrangements without obtaining the required approval. Kumar has also been accused of failing to cooperate with an inquiry into the cancellation of a national championship.
The allegations further include an attempt to convene an unauthorised meeting to move a no-confidence motion against Singh.
The suspension marks another development in the ongoing turmoil within Indian boxing’s administrative setup, with the federation once again facing scrutiny over governance and internal disputes.
The allegations against Kumar are subject to inquiry.
