Shillong, Aug 24: The Adventurous Hynñiewtrep Off Roaders (AHOR) on Monday announced that the eighth edition of its 4×4 Off-Road Challenge will be held from October 15 to 17 at Mawsadang Village in Tyrsad, Ri Bhoi district.
Speaking to the media, AHOR General Secretary Ferdinand Kharjahrin said this year’s competition will feature several new activities, while the competition categories will remain unchanged.
The event will feature three categories – Pro Modified, Semi Modified and Stock – with a total prize pool of Rs 8 lakh.
Kharjahrin also expressed his appreciation to the Government of Meghalaya for its support through the Sports Department, Tourism Department and The Meghalayan Age, as well as to Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma for his support in organising the event.
He urged the public and motorsport enthusiasts to attend the competition in large numbers and support the event in October.
Meanwhile, AHOR is also preparing to participate in the Ziro Mud Fest 2026 in Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh, scheduled from August 27 to 29.
Kharjahrin said AHOR will send one vehicle in the Modified Category to represent the club at the event. He added that around 25 to 30 vehicles from Meghalaya are expected to participate, including approximately 10 to 15 vehicles from different off-road clubs across the state.
