Tura, Aug 24: Elsi M. Marak from Kherapara in West Garo Hills has won gold medals in both Jeet Kune Do and Kung Fu at the 1st Indo-Bhutan International Games 2026 in Phonetsholing, Bhutan.
The two-day international sporting event was held on August 22 and 23, bringing together participants from India and Bhutan across a range of disciplines.
Marak represented Meghalaya at the event and emerged as a double gold medallist, securing the top position in both Jeet Kune Do and Kung Fu.
The 1st Indo-Bhutan International Games featured competitions in martial arts and other sporting disciplines, including Karate, Taekwondo, Kung Fu, Kickboxing, Boxing, Wushu, Jeet Kune Do, Athletics, Badminton, Football, Belt Wrestling, Yoga, Poomsae-Taolu-Kata and Taichi-Weapons.
The event was organised by the Bhutan All Sports Games Federation and the South Asian All Sports Games Federation under the auspices of the International All Sports Games Federation.
