Brazilian football legend Ronaldo Nazário is in New Delhi, where he met Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse to discuss opportunities for collaboration with the Government of India to promote football and strengthen the country’s sporting ecosystem.
The two-time FIFA World Cup winner’s visit has drawn attention to India’s ambitions to develop football and create greater opportunities for young athletes. Ronaldo also attended the India Championship and was spotted playing golf at the Delhi Golf Club.
One of the greatest strikers of his generation, Ronaldo Nazário played a key role in Brazil’s World Cup triumphs in 1994 and 2002.
His visit should not be confused with that of Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who missed the much-anticipated AFC Champions League Two fixture involving FC Goa in October 2025.
