India’s double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker endured a disappointing outing in the women’s 10m air pistol at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, finishing outside the podium in the individual final after an earlier near-miss in the team event.
Bhaker, who qualified third for the individual final with a score of 579, including 20 inner 10s, managed 181.1 in the eight-woman final, falling short of a medal.
South Korea’s Gaeun Choo clinched the gold medal with an Asian record and Games record score of 246.3. China’s Yiyao Shen claimed silver with 241.3, while compatriot Ranxin Jiang secured bronze with 221.6.
India thus drew a blank in the women’s 10m air pistol event after missing out on a team medal by the narrowest of margins.
For Bhaker, the result marked a frustrating end to her 10m air pistol campaign, as the two-time Olympic medallist was unable to convert a strong qualification performance into an Asian Games podium finish.
