Tura, Aug 7: A five-day High Performance Cricket Camp for young cricketers from across Garo Hills concluded successfully at the Alotgre Cricket Stadium in Tura, bringing together some of the region’s most promising talent for advanced training and development.
The camp, held from August 1 to 5, was organised by Krimkro Socio Cultural Club in collaboration with the Tura District Cricket Association (TDCA), with support from Hub News and Meghalaya Sports.
Around 40 young cricketers from different parts of Garo Hills participated in the intensive programme, which focused on improving technical skills, fitness, game awareness and overall performance as they prepare for higher levels of competitive cricket.
The initiative aimed to provide aspiring players with quality coaching and exposure while helping them develop the skills required to compete at the state and national levels.
The camp was also attended by selectors of the Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA), to assess emerging talent from the Garo Hills region. Among those present were the senior men’s selector, the Under-23, Under-19 and Under-16 selectors, as well as the selector for the women’s team.
