Tura, July 6: The Tura Football League (TFL) 2026-27 kicked off with their Super Division campaign on a resounding note with Maram FC blanking Araimile SCC 4-0 in the opening match at the P.A. Sangma Football Stadium on Saturday. After a fiercely contested, goalless first half where both teams fought hard to find their footing, Maram FC turned up the heat in the second half to secure a comprehensive victory.
Araimile SCC won the pre-match toss but struggled to break through Maram FC’s resolute defense, leading to a tense 0-0 stalemate at the halftime whistle.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 69th minute when Jakchim K. Marak found the back of the net, shifting the momentum in favor of Maram FC. Thangkham Marak doubled the lead in the 79th minute, followed closely by a quick strike from Thremarchwal Ch Marak in the 81st minute. Artius Momin put the final nail in the coffin with a clinical finish in the 90th minute, capping off a brilliant four-goal second-half performance.
The high-stakes encounter also saw its fair share of cautionary cards, Maram FC’s Seiborlang Tado was cautioned with a yellow card in the 53rd minute, while Araimile SCC’s Zellizel Marak received a booking in the 82nd minute. With this dominant display, Maram FC walks away with a crucial points to sit comfortably at the start of the Super Division season.
