First Division starts on June 27, Super Division on July 4
Tura, June 22: Football fever is set to grip Garo Hills once again as the 2026 edition of the Tura Football League (TFL) season will begin on June 23 with the opening matches of the Second Division competition.
Organised by the District Football Association (DFA), Tura, the league will feature competitions across three tiers: Second Division, First Division and Super Division. The top two teams from each division will qualify for the higher division next season, with the Super Division being the top league, followed by First Division and then the Second Division. The winners of Super Division will qualify for the Meghalaya Super League.
A DFA official informed that the schedules for the knockout stages and the dates for the finals of all three divisions will be announced at a later stage.
Second Division to open the season
The Second Division competition will commence at the GBHSS Playground with 28 teams divided into seven groups of four teams each.
The participating teams have been grouped as follows:
Group A: Chisakgre YC, Chada USA, A’beng YC and Greenwood
Group B: Morning FC, Dakopgre YSCC, Meggonggre SCC and Nikwatgre SCC
Group C: Seltang FC, Jendra FC, Nokrek Medan and Dura Wa’saa
Group D: Chitoktak YC, Mrigre SWC, Dilneng SCC and Ashugre
Group E: Sampalgre YC, Diggrangre S&CC, Ganaolgre SYC and Sadolpara YCC
Group F: Hill View, Dobol Lake, Am’bri A’ding SCYC and Do’Kakku FC
Group G: Sesengpara YCC, Mandagre YC, Gambegre YC and Rom Agal
The opening fixture on June 23 will see Chisakgre YC take on Chada USA at 1 pm in Group A, followed by A’beng YC facing Greenwood at 3 pm.
The top two teams from the Second Division will earn promotion to the First Division for the next season. There is no relegation from this division.

First Division begins on June 27
The First Division competition will begin on June 27 at the GBHSS Playground with 10 teams divided into two groups.
Group A comprises of Chandmary FC, Kalkame FA, Sategre FC, Northern United and Doreng Sporting.
Group B features Dadenggre YC, Waram Dipogre ESC, Dalu United, Achapara Balmikka GSC and Danakgre YC.
The opening fixture will see Doreng Sporting take on Northern United in a Group A clash at 3 pm on June 27.
The top two teams at the end of the season will secure promotion to the Super Division, while the bottom two teams will be relegated to the Second Division.

Super Division to begin on July 4
The Super Division, the premier tier of the Tura Football League, will kick off on July 4 at the P.A. Sangma Stadium. It features eight teams.
Only the first-round fixtures have been announced for this division so far:
Maram FC vs Araimile SCC — July 4
Rongbakgre SCCT vs Selsella SA — July 11
West Balalgre vs Rongkhon Sporting — July 18
Boca Juniors vs Chipakkore FC — July 25
All matches will begin at 3 pm.

The champions will qualify for the Meghalaya State League, offering clubs an opportunity to compete at the state level. The bottom two teams in the Super Division standings will be relegated to the First Division for the next season.
The Super Division champions will receive a cash prize of Rs. 2.5 lakh, while the runners-up will be awarded Rs. 1 lakh. Individual award winners will receive cash prizes of Rs. 5,000 each.
