Tura, May 23: The stage is set for a thrilling conclusion to the P.A. Sangma Memorial Day and Night Cricket Tournament after the completion of the pre-quarterfinal stage at the Police Parade Ground here on Saturday.

The tournament, which began on May 13, has witnessed intense competition with a total of 78 matches played so far. Attention now shifts to Sunday’s fixtures, where quarter-finals, semi-finals and the grand finale will all be played in a single day to determine the tournament champions.
The pre-quarterfinal stage concluded with an entertaining 10-over contest between DM Super 9 and Dalu United. Batting first, Dalu United posted a competitive 122/3 from their allotted overs. In reply, DM Super 9 chased down the target in commanding fashion, reaching the target in just 8.5 overs to register a five-wicket win and book their place in the quarter-finals.

Sunday’s action will begin early with four quarter-final clashes scheduled in succession.
The opening match at 9 am will see Local Strikers take on Chidare, followed by Dorikrio facing Shallang Super Cops at 10:30 am.
In the third quarter-final, A.Ronggga will meet Mean Machine at 12 noon, while DM Super 9 will face MSLRS in the final last-eight fixture at 1:30 pm.

The winners of the quarter-finals will progress to the semi-finals later in the afternoon, with the victorious teams eventually squaring off in the floodlit final in the evening to battle for the prestigious P.A. Sangma Memorial trophy.
With multiple knockout encounters lined up and the title on the line, spectators can expect an action-packed finish to the tournament in Tura.
