The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) will elect its new Executive Council on December 5, five days before the current committee’s term expires.
The IOA announced the election schedule on Saturday (October 10) and appointed Sanjay Kumar Srivastava as the returning officer to oversee the electoral process.
The process will culminate in the December 5 elections, which will be conducted in accordance with the National Sports Governance Act, 2025, the National Sports Governance (National Sports Bodies) Rules, 2026, the amended IOA Constitution, and the applicable IOA Election Bye-Laws and Rules.
IOA president PT Usha described the move as a milestone in the organisation’s efforts to strengthen good governance.
The elections will determine the composition of the IOA’s next Executive Council as the national Olympic body prepares for a change in leadership.
