Shillong, June 20: The fourth day of the East Jaintia Hills District-Level Inter-School Subroto Mukherjee Cup Football Tournament 2026 witnessed intense competition as four matches were played in the Under-15 Boys category and one fixture in the Under-17 Girls category at the East Jaintia Hills District Sports Association (EJHDSA) Football Ground in Deinchynrum on Friday.
The tournament is being organised by the Office of the District Sports Officer (DSO), East Jaintia Hills.
In the Under-15 Boys category, Wapung Higher Secondary School delivered a commanding performance to defeat Sacred Heart Secondary School 4-0.
Step by Step Secondary School also secured a convincing victory, overcoming Rymbai Government Higher Secondary School 3-1.
Another closely contested encounter saw Khliehriat Higher Secondary School edge past Saraswati Vindhyalaya in a tie-breaker after regulation time ended level. Khliehriat HSS prevailed 3-0 in the shootout to book their place in the next round.
In the lone Under-17 Girls fixture of the day, Sham Sham Secondary School defeated Khliehriat West Upper Primary School 2-0.
